Johnston's nod on the two mining leases means Kalium Lakes can start site construction works in September, and follow that up with brine extraction and evaporation works in December.

The company has also been granted a number of ancillary miscellaneous licences that cover Beyondie's stage 1 area.

Kalium Lakes managing director Brett Hazelden said securing the mining leases keeps the company in tune with its development schedule.

The company is working on getting Beyondie's mining proposal and Department of Water and Environmental Regulation's Part V works approval ready for submission.
