AROUND the clock development works have kicked off at the Orminex-GBF Mining joint venture Comet Vale gold project in the Western Australian Goldfields region.

The portal to the Comet Vale mine has been shotcreted and bolt meshed.

The decline face has been advanced 40m through the transition zone by a four-strong mining crew.

Oreminex executive chairman Daryl Henthorn said progress at the site highlighted the efficiency of the Orminex Mineral Ventures model and the strategic alliance with GBF.

The aim is reach the sixth level of the mine and start accessing virgin higher grade stoping blocks along the way.
