New technical courses in Queensland

SNOWDEN Mining Industry Consultants recently held the first in a new series of technical training courses in Queensland.

Staff Reporter

More than 20 delegates, including 12 from the coal industry, attended three courses presented by Snowden director Vivienne Snowden and principal consultant geologist Mark Noppé in October.

The courses were held in Brisbane and Moranbah and included two one-day workshops on working with the JORC code and a four-day course on resource estimation.

All delegates commented on the usefulness of the open discussion format and extensive practical exercises during the courses.

Snowden Mining has been running technical training courses in major centres and at mine sites for almost 15 years and is now, with a Brisbane office, better positioned to service the eastern states.

Mark Noppé is heading up the new office in Brisbane and can be contacted on (07) 3221 1883 or email mnoppe@snowden.com.au.

The company said it planned further technical courses for 2002. More information is available of the Training section of Snowden’s website at www.snowdenau.com. Additional in-house and on-site courses can be arranged by contacting Gillian Bester on (08) 9481 6690 or email gbester@snowden.com.au.
