Rain grinds Tarcoola to halt

RAIN has once again caused WPG Resources to suspend operations at the Tarcoola gold mine in South Australia, with two significant rainfall events in close proximity to each other – on April 21 and April 24 – closing all roads into and out of the mine.

The road closures interrupted scheduled deliveries of potable water, diesel and camp supplies, and heavy vehicle access between Tarcoola and the nearby Challenger mine, so management has closed Tarcoola...
