MetalsX keen to advance down the Nifty checkerboard

PRODUCTION at MetalsX’s Nifty underground copper sulphide mine in Western Australia’s Pilbara region is being hampered by ore having to be sourced predominantly from “tertiary” stopes.

MetalsX has refurbished the fleet at Nifty.

These are stopes surrounded by previously mined and backfilled stopes on at least two sides.

Those tertiary stopes are located in the historic checkerboard area of the Nifty orebody.

Dilution from those tertiary stopes is continuing to prove hard to handle and MetalsX believes it will continue to impact both grade and production until ore can be sourced from outside the checkerboard.

That is why it is keen to move into previously undeveloped western and eastern extensions of the orebody.

Development and the installation of the associated mine services are advancing into those new production areas.
