IN ITS third and fourth acquisition for the financial year Georesources technology company Qteq has picked up Perth-based subsurface data logger Surtech Systems and directional and measurement while drilling specialist Wellserv.

Surtech provides downhole geophysical measurement sensors and systems that collect data on the composition and behaviour of subsurface rocks.

Wellserv, meanwhile, offers directional drilling and MWD services and rentals.

Surtech founder and managing director Martin Mulliner, who started the company in 1997, said the company integration of the two businesses would provide many opportunities and ultimately offer the most innovative subsurface services and technology in Australia, across all georesources.

Qteq CEO and chairman Simon Ashton said the complementary acquisitions would greatly enhance the company's service capability, with operational bases now established in Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland.
