The Townsville Bulletin reported that yesterday’s action left two ships floating idly for several hours and could cost millions of dollars.
Management at the coal port said earlier this week it would beef up security after an incursion by activists last week.
However, protestors still found their way into the terminal, and security will be stepped up again.
A statement by the protest group Frontline Action Coal said recent action had been timed to put pressure on the recently re-elected Queensland government, ahead of the first sitting of the new Parliament next week.
However, next week will be the first sitting of Cabinet for 2018.
