The companies, who announced their teaming this week, said the ERIMS implementation has already commenced and should be completed by August.
Rosebud will use ERIMS to standardize and streamline its permit requirements processes as well as manage field and lab data and produce reports for internal and regulatory review.
“WSP understands the environmental challenges and obligations mining companies face,” Rosebud permitting manager Dennis Foster said.
“The comprehensiveness of WSP’s ERIMS platform and its ability to be customized to meet our specific needs were important factors in our choice.”
WSP Digital senior view president Mike Kretzschmar said the company was anxious to work with the producer, which was based in Pennsylvania and had 37 mines in western Pennsylvania and Ohio as well as 10 coal preparation plants.
“Based upon our experiences with other mining companies, we are confident that they will realize significant benefits from ERIMS, both now and into the future,” he said.
ERIMS’ capabilities include the management of environmental information such as permits, sampling results, historical documents, maps, and photos, and the system is able to produce regulatory reports, charts, graphs, and maps on demand.
