As part of the agreement, Famur will provide 150 shields of Fazos powered roof support, an armoured face conveyor, beam stage loader and Famur lump crusher.

Famur will also purchase a Joy longwall shearer and supply it to the contractor.

Famur vice president Ireneusz Tomecki said Famur had a long-standing presence in Mexico, with the country providing it with a great deal of opportunities.

“The highest quality of our machines and their flexible adaptation to the needs of a particular mine are assets that ensure obtaining of further orders, as exemplified by the recent contract,” he said.

“What is important, the agreement with Minera Del Norte again includes Fazos powered roof supports, which are appreciated by customers around the world.”

Famur has been executing contracts for the supply of machines for underground coal mining contracts to the Mexican market since 2007, when the first contract for the supply of powered roof supports for Minera Carbonifera Rio Escondido was completed.

In total Famur has completed contracts worth over $US630 million.

Famur’s recent contract in Mexico is a part of the company’s plans to increase the scale of exports of machinery and equipment globally.

“We want to achieve this goal both through expansion into new markets, as well as by strengthened cooperation in the countries, in which we are already present,” Tomecki said.

“Apart from Mexico, India, where we have already established Famur India Mining Solutions Company, may become a significant recipient of machines and equipment of Famur production.”
