IT WAS a lacklustre day for coal shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Patriot Coal copped a US37c drop to close at $6.59 while Alpha Natural Resources fell 4% to close at $16.03. On the opposite end of the scale it was the low cap companies which posted gains with Oxford Resource Partners jumping 6.1% and Liberty Coal moving up 38.9%.
