The school’s Mine Safety and Health Program is offering a Leading Cultural Change session on August 20-21 to help prepare mining management for the National Mining Association’s CORESafety safety initiative and the culture changes that come along with it.

The course, designed as an executive roundtable, will allow participants an opportunity to interact with one another as well as learn from culture change expert Dr Melanie Kinser, a special presenter at the session.

Mines is also offering a course on leadership for front-line leaders and safety personnel on August 22-23. Kinser also will lead this course, which will focus on communication, managing conflict, how to lead and influence others and how to manage stress.

Officials said the highly interactive course would use a “brain-based approach” and was ideal for both new and seasoned employees seeking the power of influence to help lead safe production.

Visit the Colorado School of Mines’ Mine Safety and Health Program web site for more information on registering for either course.
