The South African designed machine is made with Caterpillar components and built by Barlows in South Africa. Anderson Industries receives the machine 70% complete and then completes the manufacture according to certified standards for use in Australian underground coal mines. Andersons will be exhibiting at Stand 9160. Sister company Mining Repairs based in Wollongong, will also be showing flameproof alternators on the stand.
Anderson Industries, the agent for the Wright machine, said two such machines (A series) have been sold into the Australian coal market to date. The "B" series has numerous improvements including a lower front frame to improve visibility. The utility vehicle has a 7.5 tonne capacity.
In other significant company news, the company announced that it has been appointed the new Authorised service and parts agent for the Atlas Copco range of Wagner underground coal machines for both Queensland and NSW. Some 39 pieces of Wagner equipment are currently in service in mines across both states.
The Queensland-based company also said it was expanding its facilities across the border: “On the back of winning the diesel equipment maintenance contract for Thiess at the Southland mine earlier this year, Anderson Industries are expanding into NSW,” said sales manager, Phil Ryan. An Underground Diesel Equipment repair and parts facility will be set up in Newcastle by July, with a view to be staffed by around six people.
