Kaltim Prima Coal received two Global Green Future awards for its corporate social responsibility programs, in the categories of green efficiency initiative and best sustainable investment.
BUMI’s director and corporate secretary Dileep Srivastava said that Bumi felt privileged to be a part of a select group of winners.
The Global Green Future awards recognise any organisation that participates in environmentally friendly or ‘green’ activities to ensure that processes and business activities address environmental concerns whilst optimising return.
“Bumi is the only participant from Indonesia out of hundreds of companies from various industries from 90 countries, representing many renowned international brands,” he said.
“These awards demonstrate our ongoing commitment to alleviate the environmental impact of our mining activities, to conserve, and restore the area where we operate to its original condition.”
“As a world-class, responsible miner, we are committed to this,” he added.
