The PVC-free and halogen-free cable, provides transfer rates up to 100 Mbit/s between the moving machine parts and the control system. With a fine wave impedance of 100Ω, the cable has been manufactured and tested for a minimum bending radius in energy conduction systems of 12.5 x cable diameter, according to igus.

"Tests carried out at the igus research centre in Germany show that even after more than 1.4 double strokes in an extensive series of tests in a radius of 125mm, no significant damping increases were found," the company said.

"There is virtually unlimited oil resistance of the TPE external sheath, a broad temperature range from -35ºC to +70ºC, as well as extremely high abrasion resistance even in energy conduction systems."

The CF14 CAT5 special cable, marketed under the brand name Chainflex, is available as a 4 x 2 x 0.25mm2 cable that conforms to DESINA requirements.
