Individuals have until August 5 to submit briefs for the event, which has been set for October 8-10 at the Toronto Airport Marriott.

The MDEC conference includes a diesel workshop and roundtable forum as well as technical sessions.

Some of the technical paper topics being sought include fuels, lubricants and alternate fuels; regulatory and health issues; emissions controls; instrumentation and monitoring; and maintenance and ventilation.

A keynote presentation will also be offered by Cummins vice president and chief technical officer John Wall.

“MDEC is committed to providing a global forum for the dissemination of the latest scientific and technologically advanced research to reduce and control diesel emissions in the mining workplace environment,” the group said.

The event is ideal for mining managers as well as health, safety and environmental professionals, regulators, researchers and manufacturers of diesel products and services.

Authors should submit abstracts to Mahe Gangal at mgangal@nrcan.gc.ca.

Those selected will be notified in August.
