Rajant's BreadCrumbs go portable

MESH network system developer Rajant has introduced two versions of the single-radio BreadCrumb J...

BreadCrumb JR2-24 and JR2-50 wireless broadband nodes are lightweight and ruggedized receivers that work in concert with other nodes in the BreadCrumb family to form the company’s kinetic mesh network, within which any or all of them can be in constant motion.

The JR2-24 network node contains a single 2.4 GHz ISM band radio, while the JR2-50 operates in 2.4GHz or 5GHz ISM band to support a broad range of deployments, and supports open-standard IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n protocols to enable data, voice, and video applications.

Both JR2 models can operate in extreme conditions, have several mounting options and support NSA Suite B cryptography algorithms for data and MAC address encryption and mesh-to-mesh authentication.

Featuring 10/100/1000 megabits per second Ethernet, the two nodes can scale to hundreds of mobile, high-bandwidth nodes. Also, using version 11.2 of Rajant InstaMesh routing software, a site’s network can quickly adapt to moving network elements.

The models have 802.11n chipsets for compatibility with millions of commercial off-the-shelf client devices such as laptops, smartphones, internet protocol cameras, sensors, voice over internet protocol phones and other IP devices and self-configuring operation for fast and easy deployments.

The range of applications supported by Rajant’s kinetic mesh networking is unlimited, and includes remote monitoring and equipment conditions, voice and data communications and video security.
