In late July, a pair of lines failed on the newly installed overland conveyor connecting the large Bailey and Enlow Fork operations with the plant.
“At this time, we estimate that one of the two collapsed belts will be returned to service the week of August 19 2012, which will enable the mines to operate at an estimated 60% of capacity,” officials said.
Full production is projected to be reached by the end of August.
The producer said no domestic sales curtailments were anticipated.
It made no further comment about overseas shipments into the spot market though. It had said, just after the incident, that these could be impacted.
No one was injured in the structural failure of two belts, officials said July 30, confirming at the time that coal production from both mines would be impacted for two weeks.
No cause for the collapse has been released.
Both Enlow Fork and Bailey, which extract steam coal from the prolific Pittsburgh 8 seam, consistently rank among the top producing mines in the US.
Enlow Fork totaled 10.2 million tons of output last year, and Bailey produced 10.6Mt.
