The EL3000 longwall shearer is a mid to high-seam miner which Cat has called a “future-proof” design, capable of easy upgrades during rebuilds and enhancement maintenance.
The single-piece mainframe and two-piece trapping shoe are intended to ensure durable performance and maximum production from modular components.
The shearer claims a total installed power of 2295 kilowatts with cutting power up to 860kW, haulage motors up to 150kW and a pump motor of 75kW.
The automation system is designed to be configured to meet individual control needs from basic monitoring and protection to advanced automation and data transmission.
Ethernet communication backup functionality allows the shearer to be operated even if the overall control system is not functioning.
Remote control and diagnosis are possible for all components.
