Arch lands three Kentucky safety awards

THE Thunder Ridge surface mine, East Mac and Nellie surface mine and the Lone Mountain Processing, Darby Fork underground mine have won Kentucky Safety Awards.

They were awarded for achieving the best safety and compliance performance in their respective districts, as judged by the Kentucky Office of Mine Safety and Licensing and the Kentucky Coal Association.

Arch Coal president eastern operations Charles Snavely said he was proud of the employees and their strong commitment to safety.

“It is an outstanding record of accomplishment to receive three top safety awards in one year,” he said.
