Miner back to work after rock fall accident

US Mine Safety and Health Administration spokeswoman Amy Louviere and federal district office officials confirmed to ILN that the miner, whose name has not been released, received a head injury on Monday afternoon.

The victim, who was roof bolting at the time of the incident, was flown to the Memorial Medical Center. The worker was released for full duty after about three hours.

The Madison mine is near Vinco and is operated by Amfire, a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources.
