Rutherfords at QME 2000

Staff Reporter

Electrical engineering group, Rutherfords will unveil what they assert is a new generation of flameproof equipment specifically engineered for longwall and conventional underground mining in Australia.

The engineering company teamed up with British firm Baldwin & Francis who manufacture longwall electrical solutions for the international longwall mining market. In the last three years B&F have installed over 50 longwall electrical systems around the globe.

The new Australian equipment to be unveiled at QME 2000 utilises "world best" technology and provides clients with unprecedented safety and reliability.

Rutherford will also exhibit its "engineered solution" to the failure of high voltage cable couplers and adaptors. The new high voltage cable coupler and adaptor range has been type tested to the same rating as the cable it connects to, removing the weak link.
