i.Power opens new Sydney office

I.POWER Solutions, one of Australia’s leading providers of low and medium switchgear, automation and electrical and IT solutions, has announced the opening of a new office in Sydney to support its burgeoning business interests in New South Wales.

Located in Bondi, the Sydney operations will be run by Mark Jacobson, who has been appointed i.Power Solutions’ NSW business development manager. In this position he will be responsible for growing the company’s business in NSW and providing support to an expanding client base in Sydney, the Hunter and Illawarra regions.

Jacobson is a mining specialist and has more than 15 years electrical engineering experience in the provision of SCADA, automation and control solutions to the mining, manufacturing, and food and beverage industries.

The decision to open a Sydney branch follows a remarkable 11 months of trading which has seen the number of NSW based projects increase by approximately 175%.

The Sydney office is the second office to open in as many months. In January i.Power Solutions announced the amalgamation and relocation of its Moranbah and Mackay operations to a larger facility in Mackay. The new Mackay facility, comprising a workshop and office, is home to a multi-skilled engineering and electrical workforce and forms the base for the electrical site services team.

Centralising operations in Mackay will ultimately enable i.Power Solutions to better service regional customers through the provision of a full range of electrical and engineering services the company said. The range of capabilities will be expanded to include electrical overhaul and refurbishment work from the Mackay workshop.

i.Power Solutions will continue to maintain a presence in Moranbah with the appointment of a control systems engineer to provide on-site engineering support to customers in the region.
