Kangra Coal received the Eickhoff CM2H-30 and CM2H-37 after taking over the previously contractor-operated Savmore colliery at the beginning of 2013.

The continuous miners are currently cutting on a roster of 10 production shifts per week with two maintenance shifts per month.

The operation extracts approximately 4 million tonnes run of mine coal annually, 2Mt of which it exports via the Richards Bay coal terminal.

Eickhoff previously supported the contractor at Savmore for more than six years and said in a statement on Tuesday that it was looking forward to continuing its work at the operation with Kangra.

Eickhoff specialises in underground mining equipment and supplies more than fifty longwall shearers and continuous miners globally each year.
