TRP marketed the rock shield product primarily to the US coal industry, though it would become available to the global soft rock market.

DSI has obtained the manufacturing assets and intellectual property for the secondary ground support product.

“This acquisition is in line with our strategy to broaden our product offering to the mining industry,” group chief executive officer Patrik Nolaker said.

“We continue to actively invest in interesting technologies which can improve safety and productivity.”

DSI, which has offices in Utah, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio and Virginia, produces various products including mechanical rock bolts, extension and rebar bolts, trusses and slings, mesh, straps and other items.
