Ontario-based Accutron will be the country’s mining distributor for Trolex, whose line includes fixed gas detectors for underground mining, sensors and environmental monitoring systems.

In a statement on Friday Trolex said the partnership was part of its global distribution strategy and followed recent appointments of distributors in the US and South Africa.

Accutron develops mining instrumentation related to ventilation and its ultrasonic airflow monitoring technology has become industry standard for harsh mining applications.

Trolex said its new partner would offer integrated systems combining both companies’ technologies to provide a more complete mine monitoring system.

“This is an excellent alliance between our two companies and we are delighted to be working with Accutron,” Trolex managing director Glyn Pierce-Jones said.

“This new partnership will allow us to better service the Canadian market and fits strategically with the shared goal of providing mine-wide safety solutions.”

Accutron will replace or upgrade existing Trolex monitoring systems, offer full technical and application service packages and assist with installation, commissioning, service and support as required.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Trolex to offer its technology in the Canadian market,” Accutron business manager Gilles Arsenault commented.

“It has been Accutron’s vision to offer a proven product with outstanding track record to complement our mine air quality stations and this partnership will move that forward.”
