Quarterly production of 246,723 tonnes contributed towards 841,447t for the year to date, 6% behind on last year's figures.

Iluka said it expected full-year sales to be in line with the previous year.

During August, Iluka announced it would sell its 50% interest in Narama to Xstrata Coal for approximately $A53 million. The sale will give Xstrata 100% ownership.

The Narama mine is located approximately 25km northwest of Singleton, and produces approximately 2.5 million tonnes of saleable thermal coal per annum.
