This recent affidavit is part of an ongoing Land Court of Queensland case between Adani Mining and environmental activist group Coast and Country. The challenge to the massive project focusses on the potential environmental impacts, the purported benefits of the mine to Queensland’s economy and the overall financial viability.
Written by ACIL Allen Consulting director Jerome Fahrer, the report said that the region containing the mine would have 483 full-time equivalent jobs while Queensland as a whole would have 1206 full-time equivalent jobs.
Commenting on the claims to Fairfax Media, an Adani spokesperson said the figure of 10,000 jobs covered jobs at the Abbot Point Coal Terminal, the 310km rail line linking the terminal to the mine and other contributions from the mine itself.
