The company said the talks were confidential and without prejudice.
“Metgasco continues to argue that the government’s suspension decision was unlawful and unjustified and has severely damaged its interests,” it said in a statement.
“Court action is currently underway to have the suspension decision lifted.
“Metgasco will not comment or speculate on the status or possible outcome of discussions with government.”
The NSW Office of Coal Seam Gas suspended Metgasco’s approvals to drill the Rosella well in May on the grounds that it had not engaged in appropriate community consultation.
