Cloud Peak improves financial and operating metrics

US COAL producer Cloud Peak Energy’s US$20.1 million loss for the March quarter, adjusted earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation of $20.4 million, and average cost of $9.78 per short ton, were all improved results as compared to the first quarter of 2016.
