Rio ups Kestrel reserves

RIO Tinto has increased the estimates of the coal reserves at its Kestrel underground longwall mine in Queensland by 50%, compared to the previous estimate in the 2016 annual report.

Kestrel’s coal reserves have increased 62 million tonnes, from 123Mt to 185Mt. Accordingly, Kestrel mineral resources exclusive of ore reserves decreased 65Mt, from 306Mt to 241Mt, the company said....
