Hume Coal's proposed mining method proves controversial

HUME Coal's "pine feather" mining method for its proposed underground coal mine in New South Wales Southern Highlands was largely selected to minimise subsidence levels and associated impacts to surface features. Sadly it was found to be wanting by both the Department of Environment and Planning and the Resources Regulator.
