NSW IPC considering Ulan modification

THE NEW South Wales Independent Planning Commission has received an application from Glencore to modify its Ulan underground coal operations to allow the mining of an extra 6.4 million tonnes of coal.

The application, which has been approved by the Department of Planning and Environment with some changes, seeks to extend the Ulan operations beyond its permitted deadline of 2033.
