NSW planning dept recommends underground mine in Hunter Valley

THE New South Wales planning department has recommended to the Independent Planning Commission that a proposal by Malabar Coal for an underground mine in the Hunter Valley be approved.

Maxwell Ventures has submitted a state significant development application for the underground coal mine in the area at the Maxwell Infrastructure site, which was formerly the location of the unsuccessful South Drayton open cut coal mine proposal owned by Anglo Metallurgical Coal.
