Far West is the second deposit to be mined as part of Red River's Thalanga zinc, lead and copper operation.
Pybar has won an initial seven-year underground mining contract.
It is already mining Red River Resources' West 45 deposit - the first mine at the reopened Thalanga operation.
As of March 31, 164,000t had been produced from West 45.
That material graded 0.3% copper, 2.5% lead and 5.1% zinc.
Development activities have begun and the Far West decline cut has been completed.
First ore from the deposit is expected in early 2019, adding production to the Thalanga operation.
The ore reserve at Far West is 1.5 million tonnes grading 12% zinc.
