RESULTS of leach test work on the hydrometallurgical plant at the Wiluna uranium project have far exceeded Toro Energy’s expectations.

The completed leach test work was carried out to advance the next stage of the beneficiation and process design studies at Wiluna.

Testing was done just on Lake Maitland clay concentrates produced in the initial beneficiation design tests, with all these samples exceeding expectations in terms of efficiencies, pulp densities and post leach liquor tenors, compared to those recorded in the initial BPD studies.

These tests followed on from a leach test on a single beneficiated concentrate that trialled the highest possible pulp density to achieve increased post-leach liquor tenor without losing extraction efficiencies.
