AN INQUIRY into Rio Tinto’s destruction of 46,000 year old rock shelters in Western Australia’s Pilbara has been told the federal government should set minimum standards for any state or territory’s Aboriginal heritage act to meet.

It is thought a set of national principles could help address the imbalance Aboriginal groups face when negotiating access agreements.
