SOUTH32 will reveal its plans for its proposed Dendrobium Next Domain longwall coal project in New South Wales, which was rejected by the Independent Planning Commission because of possible threats to Sydney’s water catchment, by the end of the year.

South32 is pursuing a judicial review of the IPC's refusal of its initial Dendrobium extension application.

South32 CEO Graham Kerr told the company's annual general meeting that the company was exploring different options for the project, operated by South32 subsidiary Illawarra Metallurgical Coal.
