Thiess wins Anthill work

QUEENSLAND copper cathode producer Austral Resources has awarded contractor Thiess a $95 million, three-year mining services contract at its Anthill copper project near Mount Isa, with mining due to start early next year.

Austral has already begun blasting at Anthill, where it expects to produce 40,000 tonnes of copper cathode over a four-year period, based on ore reserves of 5.06 million tonnes grading 0.94% copper.
