South32 taking Dendrobium rejection to court

SOUTH32 is seeking a judicial review in the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales, of the Independent Planning Commission’s decision to reject the company’s $1 billion Dendrobium Mine Extension project because of concerns of threats to Sydney’s water catchment.

 The IPC decision puts at threat 700 jobs in the Illawarra region, $714 million in royalties, taxes and rates and an economic impact of about $2.8 billion.
