Contract awarded for magnesium from coal fly ash demo plant

LATROBE Magnesium has awarded an engineering procurement and construction management contract to Mincore for Latrobe Magnesium’s development of its 3000 tonne per annum magnesium demonstration plant, which will be built in Hazelwood North, Victoria.

The plant is to produce magnesium metal from fly ash– a waste stream from brown coal power generation – to demonstrate LMG’s process.
