Dalgaranga downpour dents Gascoyne's bottom line

RECORD rainfall of 160mm over the September quarter cost Gascoyne Resources more than one week of mining shifts at the Dalgaranga gold mine in Western Australia's Murchison, with production of 13,905 ounces down almost 20% on the 16,882oz in the June quarter.

During the quarter Gascoyne mined 497,000 tonnes of ore at an average grade of 0.82 grams per tonne gold, with 619,000t milled at a recovery rate of 85.8%. Gascoyne sold 13,950oz at $2548 per ounce....
