Sumitomo commits to next phase of Hillalong exploration

JAPANESE giant Sumitomo has confirmed it will proceed with Phase 2 of the Hillalong Joint Venture with Bowen Coking Coal, following the successful exploration program of Phase 1 completed earlier in the year.

Sumitomo will be pursuing more exploration with Bowen Coking Coal joint venture partner.

Phase 1 resulted in a maiden JORC resource of 43 million tonnes and confirmation that the project could produce a low ash, high quality coking coal.
