Research could better establish the relationship between historical episodes of magma activity and mineral accumulation in geological settings such as the Pacific Ocean’s Ring of Fire

Analysing the silicate mineral garnet with a state-of-the-art laser, researchers got a better understanding of magmatic activity in the area.
