CATERPILLAR Underground Mining has bought the underground articulated truck designs from Ground Force Worldwide moving it into the 20t and smaller payload class.

That said the Ground Force AT18E – an 18t payload ejector – and 20t payload AT20 remain available for order from Ground Force Worldwide.

Indeed, Ground Force will be putting the AT18E on show at the forthcoming Minexpo.

This intellectual property acquisition follows the announcement almost one year ago that Cat was buying the underground articulated truck designs from Specialised Vehicle Solutions.

The Cat AD22, derived from the SVS designs, is undergoing field trials and is expected to be on the market next year.
