AN ENGINEERING maintenance worker suffered a fractured lower leg and back injuries after the work box he was in detached from an integrated tool carrier and fell 2m to the ground at a New South Wales underground mine in December.

The worker had been installing a cable at the roof level with a colleague using a wheel loader that had been converted into a tool carrier, and a work box.
