A LOAD haul dump truck driver in New South Wales was lucky to escape serious injury after being thrown from the door of his vehicle at an underground metalliferous mine last week.

According to the NSW Resources Regulator, the LHD vehicle was driving down a decline when its bucket hit a wall.

For some reason the door then opened, which activated a door interlocking device.
