Another swinging tailgate warning

THE New South Wales Resources Regulator has reminded all truck operators, including contractors, on all mine sites across the state not to place any part of their body between an unsecured tailgate and a truck’s body after a driver was hit in the head by a swinging tailgate while tipping a full load of material.

The dangerous incident took place around 3pm on February 26 at a quarry near Glen Innes. The truck driver had tipped the load and moved the truck forward 1m to release the tailgate from the tipped mound....
