Kestrel longwall changeover hits Rio coal production

RIO Tinto’s March quarterly hard coking coal production of 1.1 million tonnes was 30% lower than the first quarter in 2017 and 53% lower than the fourth quarter of 2017 due to the longwall changeover and maintenance works at its Kestrel mine, as well as lower yield at the Hail Creek open cut mine due to scheduling.
