THE Bootu Creek manganese mine in the Northern Territory has restarted operations almost five months after the death of Craig Butler, who was crushed by a pit wall collapse in August.

Closed since the fatal accident, the OM Holdings-owned mine has been cleared for a restart by the NT Department of Primary Industry and Resources, with in-pit mining to be done in stages.
