Sandfire fined over pinned worker

WESTERN Australia-based copper miner Sandfire Resources was fined $551,250 and ordered to pay costs of $4670 in the Perth Magistrates Court on November 15, after a rock fall incident in May 2020 at the Degrussa mine that left an underground explosives operator with serious injuries.
